Just so everyone knows, I did a second Joyous Dragon woodburn, up for bids here but only for a short time. (I had several requests for a repeat, and I had an extra piece of wood, so I figured why not.)
Also, in case you don't visit the Clay Doodles page much, there are a few new walnut dragon babies here! I got some new paints and I've been having fun with them :)

I am auctioning off three canine clay doodles to help me cover upcoming costs for shipping my other critters on down to TX and back for A-Kon. So, if you're not making it to A-Kon, now's your chance to grab a few. Bids are appreciated :) (And to answer the question I keep getting - while I WANT to make more of these after A-Kon, I'm going to be out of town for a couple of weeks following, and may not have time directly after for making more of these, so this might be your only chances for right now.)

Hey everyone, I know most of you keep an eye out for news on the site, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I have a poll going on the forums about Rremly plushes. I've found someone who is willing to (in a month or two, when her backlog of work is caught up) do a short run of stuffed Rrems. I've gotten folks every month asking me to make some, and since I am pretty awful at working with stitchery I've had to put it off until I could find someone willing.
If you're interested in Rremly plushes, go and sign up for an account and fill out the poll here. I'd like to have an approximate idea of how many I'm going to ask to have made.
Also, I've gotten lots of questions regarding the chibis. I'm working hard at making more sets to sell, so keep an eye out on the forum and on the top of the website for an announcement about that! |

Hey all, just wanted to keep you updated on the site. I got a note from the fellow working on the new coding and while he's got a ton of stuff going, he's also working as fast as he can on Catharsis so we'll have full functionality soon. In the meantime, I hope you're still keeping up with new comics in the forums - there's still daily updates!
The forum for the comic and other silliness is here, and if you want the exact thread for strips, it's here (beware, pretty image-heavy). We've had a good influx of new users, too - while you don't have to create an account to read the strips, we appreciate new faces introducing themselves. So if you feel the pull, sign on up and say hi. :)
In other news, I've got two new wallpapers for April donors - one stylized Rremly relaxing on a summer isle, and one of Bitey the unfortunate.
 
By clicking on the jumping Donate fluff on the main page, you can either donate $3 and receive these two wallpapers (they come in five sizes - 1600x1200, 1280x1024, 1152x864, 1024x768, and 800x600)...
OR $5 to get all of the past wallpapers from October 2005 to the present.
OR if you donate $9, you get all of those wallpapers as well as the Rremly mood theme for livejournal!
All donations are appreciated - we couldn't keep the site running at all without your generosity. :)
One last thing - some of you may have missed the link to my deviantart account. That's here. Be aware that most of the work here is not Catharsis-related, and some of it may be a little offensive or rude. :D

I've been getting several e-mails a day from people who are letting me know that they can't reach the archives.

There's a note at the top of the website (and has been for a couple of weeks) that says very clearly that I am aware of the problem, and also that new comics can be reached in the forums. In case anyone here didn't catch that or can't find the new comics, they're right heahhh. I had a busy weekend so did not have time to get comics done, but I'm catching up on them now (Saturday and Sunday are up now, today's is underway).
Also, we have a very kind person who is working on rebuilding our website with all previous functionality, so that is definitely something I am grateful for! Thanks for sticking by us while we rebuild.

Wanted to make a quick update about the problems on the site. I'm aware of them, my web guy is aware of them. Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to take a kind of big scripting overhaul. So, please bear with us.

I am aware that you can't reach the archives on the website. Unfortunately, I also currently can't reach the page that allows me to upload a message stating as much onto the front page, and also can't upload new comics because of this. We've dispatched an e-mail to our server and we're awaiting an answer because it seems as though someone on the other end switched off php type stuff. >_< Hooray!
I apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, keep an eye on my new DA account here, where I've been uploading some new and old art for your perusing. There's also a little contest to win a clay item there. :) Look through the journal section for more info.

First, I just wanted to thank everyone who's been kind to me in my down-time. I've gotten several very nice e-mails and no one breathing down my neck about getting the comic up and running again - which is much-needed. Thank you. I hope to have the comic going again for the weekend. Key word is "hope." It's just hard to push cute-funny when you're down, ya know?
Second, I made a woodburn off of the "friends stay" design. If you want to look at it or bid on it, you can find it here. Doing that design's helped me get my mood back on track.
I've also updated the Clay Doodles page, so if you get bored waiting for me and haven't perused the site before, you can check it out here.

Just a heads up, this upcoming week is going to be a bit cluttered for me, as I'm having a special guest come visit. :) He's Rremly's namesake (yes, Rremly has a basis - or two - in the "real world"). I will have updates every day, but there may be a couple of extra doodles if I can't make enough time for full-color comics. Sorreh!
And a few hours early for you, here's a sneak-peek at tomorrow's doodle, which is a clay. The auction's the only place you can see the glow effect. :)

Thanks very much to everyone who dished out guest art this week. My hands are feeling a bit better and I should be back up to snuff on Monday.
A few people requested that I put the Bitey and Cherry earrings previously featured on the site up for bids, so here they are.
Also up for bids is Baxter in his Jayne Cobb hat here.

Hrm - I've not been able to access the comic all day today, nor receive e-mail at my catharsis address. I did a tracert and it's hanging somewhere near the comic server, so at least that one's not my fault. >_>

Thank you to those of you who have been sharing your donation stories through e-mail. It's really good to hear about kindness to others in a time like this.
For those of you who've been wondering - our forums had a problem upon the server move. We saved everything, but for some reason we aren't able to upload all of the forum info. phpbb is being a bit of a punk. So, unfortunately, we might have to re-start the forum at the beginning. :/ If you know a lot about phpbb or have helped move a phpbb over to another server, e-mail me and let me know! jb at catharsiscomic dot com ! I would really prefer to port over the entire forum than starting new.
One last thing, Baxter & Aya as seen in today's update are up for bids, but only for a couple of days!

EDIT: My code guy DID get a few minutes to fiddle with some code, so the comic should be viewable on the main page, as well as in the archives. However, he recommends I go light on update size for a few days to test out if the server can handle it. Please forgive me for a few more days of black and white doodles!

Jungle, the server that hosts the comic images for Catharsis, has bitten the dust (after running for a really, really long time... it was old). This means that right now you can't access the archives, but I will be posting the current comic in the forums on the site. So make sure you click the forums button and take a look, or bookmark the thread I'm posting comic images in. I will make another announcement once everything is back up and running. Please be patient, as my coding guy is pretty busy until at least Wednesday (and you don't want me coding, as things would tend to go "kaBAMMO"). It'll take him a bit of time to get everything moved over to our other server.
E-mail still reaches me at jb (at) catharsiscomic (dot) com.
I might do a few more b&w doodles just because I'm a little disheartened about the server explosion, and that makes it hard for me to really get into working hard on a full-color comic. :(

A couple of notes -
1. I did some gift art for Randy Milholland's newest venture, Midnight Macabre. It's linked in his news section. I'm sure most of you already know he's the creator of S*P, but for some reason I am digging MM ten times more. I think it's because of the father-daughter bond, which is a precious thing to me. Anyway, make sure you're reading Midnight Macabre.
2. I have a woodburn up for bids. Dragon-related, of course. :)
